Mr. Wang Chang, the founder of Arcsolu, has been based in Paris for over 20 years. As the Founder and Team Leader, Mr. Wang’s primary focus is team management, though he also acts as an R&D developer who deeply understands the technical nuances of product development. The core functions he utilizes within Sanplex are Requirements Management and Bug Management. In this article, Chang shares his company's journey with Sanplex.
" Arcsolu utilizes Sanplex across different roles. Because each person is responsible for a specific subset of the platform's extensive features, it is very intuitive to use. Furthermore, all product lines are visible to everyone, ensuring our sales and customer service teams stay aligned across the entire portfolio."
Mr. Wang Chang was previously a proponent of Jira. However, he turned to Sanplex due to the increasing price of Jira and the steep learning curve it imposed on his team. During our conversation, he highlighted his three favorite features of Sanplex: Bug Management, Story Management, and Task Management. Chang believes these functions in Sanplex are more streamlined and easier to master than those in Jira.
1. Story Management
Sanplex facilitates collaboration between three primary roles: the Product Manager, the Development Team, and the Testing Team. By collaborating through "stories," the platform realizes a "separation of powers" in R&D management. The development team uses Sanplex for task tracking, while the testing team focuses on bug tracking. For product managers, it serves as a robust requirements management tool.
While many product managers are accustomed to writing lengthy requirement specifications in Word documents, Sanplex advocates for defining requirements as functional points. Essentially, every feature from the original design is recorded in Sanplex as an individual point. Following Scrum standards, these are referred to as User Stories.
Sanplex provides a complete lifecycle for story management, including:
- Story Creation: Adding stories to the product and defining detailed features.
- Story Review: Deciding whether to adopt a specific story into the roadmap.
- Story Breakdown: Refining "User Stories" into "Software Requirements" to reduce implementation deviations.
- Story Change Control: Visualizing the impact of requirement changes and notifying those responsible for affected tasks, bugs, or use cases.
2. Task Management
Once stories are defined, the key project elements—cycle time, resources, and requirements—fall into place. The next step is the task breakdown for each story, generating the specific actions needed for completion.
Mr. Wang Chang expressed a strong preference for the task management features in Sanplex. Tasks are directly linked to user stories and can be split into multiple subtasks assigned to specific team members. Transactional tasks can be assigned in batches or picked up freely by team members, which greatly motivates the team. Once decomposed, every member knows exactly what to do, leaving them to simply update their progress as the project moves forward.
3. BUG Management
Sanplex is a full-lifecycle project management solution with Bug Management at its core. It covers all staff and processes, providing powerful support for R&D projects to ensure they remain orderly and disciplined.
Many teams are drawn to Sanplex specifically for its reputation as a premier bug management platform. Mr. Wang Chang noted, " For a system that covers the entire software R&D lifecycle, the Bug Management module is critical. Sanplex provides a highly professional and structured bug handling process."
In the final stages of a project, the focus shifts to testing. Testers and developers interact through bugs to ensure product quality.
" The simpler the process, the more efficient it is," says Mr. Wang Chang. " The workflow in Sanplex covers our basic business needs perfectly. The testing and bug management features are incredibly powerful. I believe every project management team should try it."
Conclusion
The case of Arcsolu demonstrates that for small and mid-sized project teams, Sanplex provides total controllability through its core functions: story, task, and bug management. By eliminating wasted time and fragmented resources, Sanplex helps teams reduce costs and significantly increase efficiency.
