Summary: Learn about the project management models available in Sanplex, including Scrum, Waterfall, Kanban, Agile +, and Waterfall +, and how they support different delivery processes and collaboration needs.

In Sanplex, different Projects can use different management models based on their delivery and management needs. Sanplex currently supports multiple project management models, including Scrum, Waterfall, Kanban, Agile +, and Waterfall +. Additional management models are planned for future versions.

Project management model selection showing available options such as Scrum, Waterfall, Kanban, Agile +, and Waterfall +.

Scrum Model

Projects using the Scrum model support end-to-end agile project management. A Project can include one or more sprints.

Sanplex provides comprehensive support for Scrum, including corresponding concepts and roles, as well as end-to-end support for product management, sprint management, and release management. This helps teams adopt agile development practices more quickly and apply them more effectively.

Waterfall Model

Projects using the Waterfall model support sequential project management. A Project can include multiple stages, such as Requirements, Design, Development, Testing, Release, and Review.

The Waterfall model in Sanplex provides a wide range of project management capabilities, including project planning, estimation, design, milestones, weekly reports, baselines, configuration management, process management, version management, document management, issue management, risk management, opportunity management, training management, and meeting management. It also supports stage customization and nested stages, helping organizations improve delivery control through clear phase planning, thorough requirements analysis, and formal design reviews.

Kanban Model

Projects using the Kanban model support visual project process management. A Project can include one or more Kanban boards.

With Kanban, teams can visualize workflows, identify delivery bottlenecks, improve work flow, and support faster delivery.

Sanplex also supports Cumulative Flow Diagrams, which help teams track how the number of work items in different workflow stages changes over time.

Agile + Model

The Agile + model allows Scrum and Kanban teams to collaborate within the same Project. It also supports combining Scrum and Kanban across different stages of a Project.

This model brings together the strengths of Scrum and Kanban, allowing iterative development and pull-based workflow management to be used within the same Project. It can support different delivery phases within one team as well as cross-team collaboration between teams using different management approaches.

Waterfall + Model

The Waterfall + model combines Waterfall, Scrum, and Kanban within a single Project management approach. It combines the structured process of Waterfall with the flexibility of agile methods, helping teams maintain orderly project progression while responding more effectively to change.

This model provides clear planning and control while allowing greater flexibility during delivery. Teams can work with defined stages and detailed plans while still adapting to changes as the Project progresses.
