Summary: Learn how to create and manage project documents, use document templates, organize content with document libraries, and access project attachments.

Sanplex includes built-in document management in the Project module.

Under Document, you can create documents directly, create documents from templates, import documents, create Word, PPT, and Excel files, and create document libraries.

At the project level, documents are organized into project document libraries. A main project library is created automatically, and additional libraries can be created as needed.

The Attachments page provides a centralized list of files uploaded or attached to project-related content.

I. Create Documents

1. Create a document directly

Go to Project > Select a Project > Document.

Open the Create dropdown. The available options include:

  • Create Document
  • Create By Template
  • Import
  • Word
  • PPT
  • Excel
  • Create Library

To create Word, PPT, or Excel documents, configure the related Office conversion settings under Admin > System > Office > Office Conversion.

To create a document directly, select Create Document. On the page that opens, enter the required document information and content.

Click Save to create the document. The saved document can then be opened from the document library.

2. Create a document from a template

You can also create project documents from available templates.

Go to Project > Document, open the Create dropdown, and select Create By Template.

From the template window, select the appropriate available template to begin creating the document.

II. Create a Document Library

A main project document library is created automatically for each project.

Additional document libraries can be created to organize documents for different purposes, teams, or work areas.

Go to Project > Document, open the Create dropdown, and select Create Library.

Complete the library information and access settings on the Create Library page, and then click Save.

After the library is created, it appears in the document library list on the left side of the page. Select a library from this list to switch between project document libraries.

III. Attachments

Files uploaded or attached to project-related content are collected under Attachments.

This can include files such as:

  • images uploaded through rich text editors
  • files attached to project documents
  • files attached to project releases
  • files uploaded from supported create and edit pages
